WA-2211 (RP-88) — A Further Analysis of Room Air Distribution Performance

$7.50

Conference Proceeding by ASHRAE, 1971

Description

This paper is the fifth in a series which describes the results of an experimental program to determine how various parameters affect the air distribution performance of different types of air distribution systems. Earlier papers by Nevins and Ward, (1) Miller and Nevins (2,3) and Miller (4) presented results of extensive testing on ventilating ceilings, cone-type circular ceiling diffusers, high sidewall grilles, sill gri11es, ceiling slots, and light troffer diffusers. This paper will describe a further analysis of the air distribution performance of the latter five devices. In previous papers the Air Distribution Performance Index (ADPI) was demonstrated to be a valid single number rating index for the performance of air distribution systems, and will be used in the present paper as a scale with which the various air distributing devices may be evaluated and compared.
